Event details

Innovation policymakers across Europe face a complex and continuously evolving system and sometimes have limited evidence to most effectively influence it. This can be addressed by turning the current model of policymaking upside down through experimentation.

There has been growing recognition of the value randomised experiments can provide to public programmes in recent years. There are increasing opportunities to run experiments in the European innovation ecosystem. However, to run them successfully, policymakers need to acquire the necessary skills to design and implement programmes that are suitable for experimentation.

In this event, we will introduce the scope and opportunities to design, implement and run experiments in innovation policy. To support agencies in the process, we’ll introduce the first EURADA training programme, built in partnership with the Innovation Growth Lab at Nesta, the UK Innovation Foundation. The training programme will allow you to learn the basic skills and techniques to make your agency more experimental and evidence-based.
